Toots and The Maytals
Sunday April 15th, 2012 at 2:30pm
Toots and the Maytals, originally called simply The Maytals, are considered legends of ska and reggae music. Their sound is a unique, original combination of gospel, ska, soul, reggae and rock. Frederick "Toots" Hibbert, the leader of the group, was born in May Pen in the Parish of Clarendon, Jamaica. He was the youngest of seven children. He grew up singing gospel music in a church choir, but moved to Kingston in 1961 at the tender age of sixteen. Toots and the Maytals remains a relevant influence on today's global music scene with artists from Amy Winehouse to Sublime re-recording classic tracks. Toots recieved another Grammy nomination for his 2008 release "Light Your Light. In recent years Toots has toured with The Rolling Stones, Dave Matthews, Sheryl Crow and Los Lonely Boys. Always recording when not touring "Flip & Twist" will be release on 4/20/10 on Toot's own D & F Music label. Look for Toots on the road spring and fall in the US and summer in Europe.

JJ Grey & Mofro
Sunday April 15th, 2012 at 4pm
"Just tell the story—there's nothing else to do," JJ Grey recently told Relix
magazine. Grey's ability to tell his thought-provoking stories through original
songs, informed by a mixture of old school rhythm & blues and down-home roots
rock 'n' roll, has carried JJ Grey & Mofro from the backwoods of Florida to
hundreds of concert stages across the U.S., Canada, Europe, Japan and
Australia.
Singing with a passion and fervor directly influenced by his classic soul
heroes, Grey's deeply personal songs are steeped in the rhythms of his native
home outside of Jacksonville, Florida. Grey comes from a long tradition of
southern storytellers and, in that spirit, he fills his songs with details that are at
once vivid, personal and universal.

Band of Heathens
Saturday, March 10th, 2012 Hope you enjoyed the show!
The Band of Heathens is constantly being compared to The Band because of the musical finesse that
overlays their timeless, rootsy core. And the three founding members are all skilled multi-instrumentalists
who can play almost any position in the field. But TBoH has reached so many fans so fast because of the
echoes of and subtle homage to so many different artists at the core of the Americana canon, including
Tom Petty, Tony Joe White, the Grateful Dead, Leon Russell, George Harrison, and other rarified stylists.
You can hear a little of all that at a Heathens show or on disc, and Top Hat Crown feels like the most
coherent and mature encapsulation of those elements so far.
"We're just making it up as we go along," says member Ed Jurdi. "I mean we don't follow a script, we're
not good actors and we don't take our cues well. We all agree it's important to honestly represent the idea
of what we are putting forth. As a band, we are in a position to actualize where we're going because there
is no label and there are no rules. It's been an exhilarating ride."

See-I
Saturday, March 17th, 2012 Hope you enjoyed the show!
See-I's unique blend of classic roots reggae with a good blend of funk and soul
has rocked dance floors from coast to coast. The deep experiences & influences
of this 8-piece group have created a sound popular sound at ski resorts, beach
towns & concert halls alike. Eric Hilton of Thievery Corporation even said,
"They're unique musically and I think that's why people gravitate to them so
much". See-I is original roots, rock reggae from the nation's capital! The story begins with two brothers, Rootz and Zeebo, who found their way from college in North Carolina via the Caribbean only to end up in Washington, DC. It
was in the cultural melting pot of the Nation's capital that they developed their
creative and musical talents. In the heady days of the late 1980s, the brothers
Steele would launch the project that has defined their lives: See-I. They quickly
became a fixture of DC's burgeoning Reggae scene crossing paths with Reggae
aficionado Eric Hilton who was determined to include them in his future projects.
Hilton was opening the Eighteenth Street Lounge and associated record label,
and brought Rootz and Zeebo on board.

ALO
Saturday, March 24th, 2012 Hope you enjoyed the show!
ALO is not a band that dwells in the past. They are always moving forward. Always striving to
discover new ideas. Always looking to go on new adventures. Their latest adventure, Man of the World
(to be released February 9, 2010 on Brushfire Records), finds the Cali collective flexing their
considerable creative powers to craft their finest album yet. Recorded almost entirely live, the 11-
song collection is the sound of four players who have truly found their groove together. This is
ALO at their most natural, their most organic and their most pure. Man of the World is the next level
for ALO. The band had traditionally built their songs up track by track, but they abandoned that approach for
a rawer, more organic, one. "In the days before digital recording and endless tracks, when musicians
were confined to two or four tracks, this is how it was done," keyboardist Zach Gill explains.
"Musicians had to play together at the same time and get it right. A great performance meant that
everybody got it right at the same time. I've always felt that you can hear the difference in
recordings made this way. You actually get to hear the sound of people in a room making
something together. Not an artificial simulation."

New Monsoon
Saturday, March 31st, 2012 Hope you enjoyed the show!
San Francisco rock quintet New Monsoon is the collaborative vehicle for
the vocal and instrumental prowess of founding members Bo Carper
(acoustic guitar and banjo), Jeff Miller (electric guitar) and Phil Ferlino
(keys). Now well into its second decade of national touring, the band also
features the muscular young rhythm section of Marshall Harrell (electric
bass) and Sean Hutchinson (drums).
New Monsoon's exhilarating blend of
acoustic and electric instrumentation shines in an irresistible blend of
sophisticated song craft, inventive musical exploration and down home
rock-n-roll. "They have a collective power that comes off as a real unified
force on stage.. It's not just a band, you know? It's something
transcendental." – Michael Shrieve (original drummer, Santana).

Keller Williams
Saturday April 7th, 2012 at 3:30pm Hope you enjoyed the show!
Since he first appeared on the scene in the early '90s, Williams has defined the term independent artist. And
his recordings tell only half the story. Keller built his reputation initially on his engaging live performances, no
two of which are ever alike. For most of his career he has performed as a one-man band—his stage shows are
constructed around Keller singing his compositions and choice cover songs while accompanying himself on an
acoustic guitar connected to a Gibson Echoplex delay system that allows him to simulate a full band. That
approach, Williams explains, was derived from "hours of playing solo with just a guitar and a microphone, and
then wanting to go down different avenues musically. I couldn't afford humans and didn't want to step into the
cheesy world of automated sequencers where you hit a button and the whole band starts to play, then you've
got to solo along or sing on top of it. I wanted something more organic yet with a dance groove that I could
create myself."
