For over 100 years Steamboat has celebrated Independence Day with rodeo. Cowboys Roundup Days celebrates the Western Heritage native to the Yampa Valley with events for the entire family.

On Friday July 4th, kick back in boots at several community events including, a community all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast, children’s activities, concerts, the annual parade down Lincoln Avenue (10am), block party at the Tread of Pioneers Museum (11am), rodeo (7pm), and fireworks (after the rodeo).

The parade begins at 10am and applications for entry will be available in late-May or early-June.

Sunday morning begins with a real cattle drive (10am) where local ranchers will drive 100 pair of cattle from their ranch down Lincoln Avenue to Romick Arena. These cattle will then play a part in the Ranch Horse Competition and Ranch Rodeo (4pm) where local ranches will compete against one another.

Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series 08

Watch the old west come alive! The Steamboat Springs Pro Rodeo Series features the best cowboys in Colorado and Wyoming on the baddest bulls and horses. Kids events too.

The rodeo series starts on Friday, June 13th and is every Friday and Saturday night until Saturday, August 16th. All rodeos start at 7:30 p.m. except the 4th of July rodeo which starts at 7:00 p.m.

Enjoy a BBQ and entertainment beginning each night at 6pm. All rodeos are at the Romick Arena in downtown Steamboat Springs.

Tickets are $14 for adults and $7 for children. Kids 6 and under are free. Tickets are available for purchase in advance at the Steamboat Springs Visitor’s Center or at the gate.

Local and visiting artists bring a great variety of their work to display and sell in Gondola Square at the base of the Steamboat Ski Area from 10 am to 4 pm.

17th Annual Steamboat Sprint

Join your friends and neighbors in a 400 yard dash down main street. Registration happens in front of Lyon Drug between 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. The race starts at 9:30 a.m. right before the 4th of July parade. There is a small admission fee at registration.
