This is a fun, informative and invigorating hike with gorgeous views high up on Mt. Werner. Guided by a Steamboat Ambassador the hike begins at the top of the Gondola then proceeds along the Vista Nature Trail stopping along the way for pictures and interesting talks about the mountain and the community. The hike is offered Wednesday, Friday and Sundays. The Sunday Hike will enjoy the Sunday Brunch, the Wednesday and Friday hike will enjoy a buffet lunch on the 3rd floor deck overlooking the valley. Guests need to make reservations 24 hours in advance.
Lunch menu items may include international cheeses, croissants, baguettes, fresh Italian pasta, seafood salads, assorted fruits, rare peppered sliced round of beef, smoked turkey, country ham, salmon filet poached in wine and herbs, fresh chocolate-dipped strawberries, éclairs, summer cobblers with mountain berries, and of course a glass of wine for the adults! All served on a magnificent deck with white table cloths and incredible views.
Location
The Gourmet Hike meets at the Information Center, located at the base of the ski area in Gondola Square.
Dates
Guided Gourmet Hikes are offered Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, June 22 -August 31, 2008, by reservation only (unavailable August 27). Meet at the Information Center in Gondola Square at 10:30 am, upload at 10:45 am, hike, enjoy lunch at approximately 12:00 pm.
