Spring is a time of renewal and the best way to renew your love of Champagne Powder snow and the sun-filled slopes of the Steamboat Ski Area is with FREE lift tickets during April. With more than 23 feet of Champagne Powder snow this year, Ski Town, U.S.A.® has plenty in store to celebrate the 2008/2009 season in style up through closing day, Sunday, April 12th.

Steamboat is featuring FREE lift tickets when individuals book a minimum 3 nights lodging from April 1-12 through Steamboat Central Reservations®. The Ski Free in April package*, an unbeatable spring value, starts as low as $119 per adult. In addition, if you want to be your best, you need to be on the latest equipment. With the Ski Free in April package, the resort is providing 20% off rental equipment at all Steamboat Ski & Sport locations.

*Ski free by purchasing lodging for April 1-12, 2009 for a three night minimum stay. Package must be purchased by April 10, 2009, package includes lodging and lifts. Lift tickets are per person, limit 2 people per bedroom and are valid one day less than nights stayed.

29th Annual Smartwool Cardboard Classic

The Cardboard Classic, Steamboat’s traditional rite of spring celebrating its 29th year on Saturday, April 11th, features homemade crafts constructed only from cardboard, glue, string, water based paint, duct tape and masking tape racing down the face of Headwall to a hysterical finish. The uniqueness and creativity of the race make it an event looked forward to every year.

2nd Annual Splashdown Pond Skimming Competition

For the 2nd year, Springalicious will feature a SPLASHDOWN Pond Skimming Competition Sunday, April 12th. Steamboat’s bravest (and maybe craziest) skiers/riders will attempt to cross an ice-cold pond at the base of the mountain, while being judged on distance, outfit creativity, and crowd response.
