2nd Annual STARS Snowshoe Stampede and Inagural Snowshoe Round Up
April 10, 2010
STeamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports (STARS), in cooperation with Steamboat Running Series and Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation announces the 2nd Annual STARS Snowshoe Stampede and Inaugural Snowshoe Round Up on April 10, 2010. The races are a fundraising event with proceeds supporting the local adaptive recreational program of Steamboat Springs through participant registration fees, branded product sales, and donations.
- The STARS Snowshoe Round Up is a snowshoe race on mapped trails of the Steamboat Ski Area. The trail is a loop 3.8km (2.4 miles) long, 687 ft vertical, and runs along packed snow trails in a beautiful forested area of the Resort.
- The STARS Snowshoe Stampede is a "100 yard dash" up the hill in the same tracks as the Cardboard Classic.
Run up one side, scramble over a berm, and stampede down the other side is a fun and amusing way for
people to participate in the fundraiser without working up the long distance sweat!
