Many of these changes are already underway and numerous projects will continue to take shape over the coming years. In all, it's anticipated that over one billion dollars will be invested in the Steamboat Unbridled experience

But the heart and soul of Steamboat will remain deeply rooted in a real town, with a century long tradition of welcoming people to the wide open, snow filled Yampa Valley. Steamboat is stampeding ahead with a record $16+ million in on-mountain investments including the new high-speed, detachable six-passenger chairlift, the Christie Peak Express, a comprehensive re-grade of the Headwall beginner slope, significant snowmaking improvements and more.

An estimated 4,000 high-end pillows will come online over the next several years with more than a dozen developments that mix residential with commercial and extend from the base area to downtown Steamboat Springs.

The City of Steamboat Springs passed an urban renewal authority in 2005 to spark redevelopment of the base area totaling $23 million in Steamboat Unbridled revitalization projects over the next three years, including $6 million which will be invested this summer.
