Information for Cowboy Downhill Participants

Eligibility: Any PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) or PBR (Professional Bull Riders) members entered at the 2013 Denver Stock Show Rodeo, current top 40 PBR members, select rodeo legends, and current PRCA World Champions are eligible to register for the event.
Entry Cost: $125 - Entry includes two nights lodging at The Lodge at Steamboat (Sunday, January 20 and Monday, January 21, 2013 only), a two-day adult lift ticket, a two-day ski or snowboard rental package, entry into the Cowboy Downhill race, a special edition Cowboy Downhill jacket and one VIP Pass for all events.
Registration: Sunday, January 20, 2013, at Registration Headquarters - The Clubhouse at The Lodge at Steamboat - 2700 Village Drive from 9am - 6pm. Monday, January 21, 2013, the day of the race, at The Competition Services Office, Ski Area Base - Gondola Square, from 8:30am - 10:30am.
Lift Tickets: Every cowboy entering the event will receive two days of skiing valid January 20, 2013 - January 22, 2013. Those registering on Sunday should go to Registration Headquarters - The Clubhouse at The Lodge and register for the event, to receive a two-day lift ticket. Those registering on Monday should go to The Competition Services Office in Gondola Square to register and pick up their lift tickets. Specially priced lift tickets for cowboy's guests and kids or for cowboys to ski a third day will be available at registration. Adult tickets are $54 per day and children ages 6-12 are $41 per day. Children ages 5 and under ski free.
Ski Rentals: Ski rentals (skis, boots, and poles) and snowboard rentals (boots and board) will be available for participants and VIP's at Steamboat Ski & Sport - Gondola Square. Cowboys and VIP's will receive a ski or snowboard rental voucher at registration, which can then be presented at the Steamboat Ski & Sport - Gondola Square to obtain rental equipment. Specially priced ski or snowboard rentals for Cowboy's guests and kids can be purchase for $15.
Lodging: Lodging is available for Cowboy Downhill participants through Steamboat Resorts for the nights of Sunday, January 20 and Monday, January 21, 2013 ONLY. Cowboys and VIPs will be charged the following rates for additional nights: $145/night for 1 bedroom and $199/night for a 2 bedroom unit plus applicable taxes. All lodging check-in is at Registration Headquarters - The Clubhouse at The Lodge. Participants must identify themselves at the time of check-in as being with the Cowboy Downhill event. Cowboys are allowed one (1) guest for lodging. Any additional guests will be charged $40 per night, per person. A credit card imprint for incidentals is required upon check-in.
Pre-Race Cowboy Lunch: On Monday, January 21, lunch will be provided for all cowboys and VIP pass holders from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Bear River Bar & Grill Terrace.
Race Format: Cowboys will ski down a dual slalom course, go over a jump, lasso a lady, saddle a horse, and cross the finish line. This is the Timed Event. Followed by the Stampede Event, which is a mass start; first cowboy to the bottom wins. All participants must wear chaps and cowboy hats.
Public Festivities: Festivities for the 39th Annual Bud Light Cowboy Downhill include an afternoon western celebration in Gondola Square featuring: Community Ag Alliance, 4H farm animals, food and refreshments at The Bear River Bar & Grill, a learn-to-rope clinic, and commemorative Bud Light Cowboy Downhill logo wear and souvenirs.
Awards & Concert: The Bud Light Cowboy Downhill concert will begin at 3:30pm on the concert stage in Gondola Square. Complimentary Bud and Bud Light and a cash bar will be available in the Cowboy VIP section for all VIP pass holders. The Cowboy VIP section is not open to the general public. The Awards Ceremony will be held on Monday, January 21 immediately following the Stampede Event. The concert and the awards ceremony are open to the general pubic and are FREE.

11:00am-1:00pm Cowboy/VIP BBQ on the Bear River Deck (Cowboy participants only)
12:00-5:00pm Public Festivities in Gondola Sq., in the Bud Light Tents, and at the Bear River Bar & Grill, with live musical entertainment
1:00pm 39th Annual Bud Light Cowboy Downhill - Timed Event Slalom followed by the Stampede event
3:30pm Free Bud Light Concert- Gondola Square (Blackberry Smoke)
7:00pm Cowboy Downhill Awards and Banquet (Cowboy Participants Only)
