Following the hike, enjoy a delicious lunch and tasting of California grown green wines from Kobrand Wine & Spirits. Susie Mayr, Colorado District Manager, will explain that while it’s not easy being green, it certainly is delicious. If there’s a single trend in how to grow wine grapes, it’s biodynamics— and the six wines, from such acclaimed producers as Benziger and Domaine Carneros, will all be biodynamic, organic and/or sustainable. Winegrowers around the world have adopted these ‘green’ farming practices that have helped to greatly improve the quality of the wines and the environment. Today’s finest winemakers apply in-depth knowledge of soil chemistry and microbiology to inform winegrowing that favors traditional techniques, like turning over soil rather than using herbicides. You’ll taste first hand the delicious results, all while taking in the wonderful views from Thunderhead Lodge – a picture perfect ending.

Following the hike, relax and unwind on the beautiful deck at Thunderhead Lodge while enjoying a delicious brunch and mimosas – a wonderful way to end the your stay in Steamboat.

Please allow up to 3 hours for the hike and brunch. Hikers will meet at the Information Center on Gondola Square at 9:30am, and then it’s time to hit the trails. Limited space, as we want you to enjoy the hike without a crowd.
