Saddleback Ranch

About

Enjoy views of the Flattops, Sleeping Giant and Mt Werner on horseback! The first cattle were brought to Routt County in 1871 to utilize summer pastures. The Iacovetto family has passed our agriculture heritage through five generations.

Spend the day with us as we move cattle, check their health, bring in strays and make sure that everything on the ranch is running smoothly. Our Cattle Drive rides are unique as they are not "nose to tail" trail rides and no part of the day is "staged" so daily tasks vary. The horse riding pace on a Cattle Drive is usually slow, allowing for time to gain appreciation for the animals and make a four legged friend or two. We have horses for all riding abilities on all our riding activities.

On our Dinner Ride enjoy a 30 minute horseback or wagon ride to our Double Dollar Lodge. After dinner take part in a calf roping instruction, then pick up your heels for a little dancing or tap your toes to the beat of Country and Western Music.

Driving Directions

Take HWY 40 West out of Steamboat 10 miles. At mile marker 122 take a left onto County Road 178, which will turn into County Road 179. Follow County Road 179, 3 miles across the rail road tracks, over the river and pass a housing development, the ranch is on the left side of the road.

If transportation is needed, pick-up times will be approximately 30 minutes prior to ride time.

Hours

Guests must call the Saddleback Ranch upon arrival in Steamboat to confirm ride time, riding abilities and menu choices. Please call at least 24 hours in advance.

The Cattle Drive and Two Hours Rides are offered Tuesday to Saturday; Dinner Rides are offered Tuesdays and Fridays.

Dinner Menu

For the dinner ride, the Dinner Menu choices are NY Steak, Garlic Salmon, Teriyaki Chicken or Grilled Pork Tenderloin. Children's menu contains Hot Dog or Hamburger (for guests 5 and under).

Entrees served with Cowboy beans, baked potato, salad, homemade bread and homemade dessert. Iced tea and lemonade to drink. You may bring your own alcoholic beverage.

Ride Type Length Age Rate*
