Mountain Tours
On Skis
Our friendly Ambassador staff offers a fun, informative mountain ski tour every day at 10:30am. Tours last about an hour and a half. Intermediate and above skiers and riders are welcome. Tours are primarily on blue intermediate and groomed black expert trails.
Location
Just show up at the "Mountain Tour" sign at the top of Vagabond Trail at 10:15 am located just outside the Thunderhead building. Look for the Ambassadors in the bright yellow jackets.

On Snowshoes
The Steamboat Ambassadors conduct a free (with a lift ticket) guided snowshoe tour. The tours offer breathtaking views of the Yampa Valley and the Flat Top Mountains. Tours depart from the Information Center at the base of the Gondola daily at 1:00pm.
Snowshoe Rentals available and Foot Pass required for the gondola ride. Stop by the Information Center at the base of the mountain to sign up and rent your snowshoes, or call 970-871-5444. Footpass tickets can be purchased at the information center, $20.00 for an adult, and $10.00 for a child. This ticket is an all-day ticket to the top of the gondola.

Tours leave everyday at 1:00pm. Tours are offered December 9, 2012 to April 7, 2013. The Information Center is open daily from 8:00am - 5:00pm.

Guided gourmet lunch snowshoe tour
A fun informative, invigorating showshoe tour with breathtaking views. Upon reaching your destination, enjoy a delectable gourmet lunch and a refreshing glass of wine.
The Tuesday-Sunday tour snowshoes a short 1 mile loop with lunch at Hazie's, the Monday tour snowshoes on Duster Trail, a 3 mile roundtrip with Lunch at Ragnar's.

Ski with Billy Kidd
About
Join Steamboat's Director of Skiing, 1964 Olympic Silver Medalist and World Champion Billy Kidd, for some free pointers and a run down Heavenly Daze. Check the sign at the top of the gondola to see if Billy is skiing today, and join him in front of the BK sign at the top of Why Not at 1:00pm.

Nelson on Nelson's
About
Nelson Carmichael, 1992 Olympic Bronze Medalist, 2-time World Cup Mogul Champion, 6-time US National Mogul Champion and Professional Mogul Tour Champion, hosts a free mogul clinic on Nelson's Run.
Location
Selected Sundays through the season. Check the grooming report to see if Nelson is skiing and meet at the Nelson's sign outside the Four Points Hut.

Guided Nature Ski Tours

Join one of the naturalists from Yampatika's Education Partnership for a free ski tour and receive interpretive information on the forest, mountain habitat and indigenous flora and fauna.

Over the Hill Gang Tours
About
A ski program for skiers and riders ages 50 & over that enjoy cruising on blue and primarily groomed black trails. Lead by local guides, the tours are offered Sunday through Friday.

Over the hill gang meets at the Billy Kidd Statue and leaves promptly at 9:00am

Tours are offered Sunday through Friday, December 9, 2012 to April 5, 2013. Meet at 8:45am by the Billy Kidd Statue. Tours leave promptly at 9:00am and last until 3:00pm.
