Steamboat Ski & Resort Corp. permits uphill traffic with limited restrictions. However, there are guidelines all uphill users must follow to promote safety and to minimize conflicts between snowmaking and grooming operations (including winch cat), snowmobile traffic, and any other activities that might be taking place anytime on the mountain, day and night.

How Do I Get a Pass?
Steamboat has an uphill access pass system to educate users about the risks of these activities. Before you head uphill at Steamboat Resort, please download the Uphill Access Pass Policy and User Guidelines, read through the document and bring a signed copy into the Information Center. We will hand you a highly reflective band you should wear on your person or attach to your pack as your Uphill Access Pass.
