Stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) has become one of the fastest growing sports in the Yampa Valley and beyond. AVA and Mountain Sports Kayak School offer trips and rentals for everyone interested in learning a new, fun way to enjoy Colorado's rivers and lakes.
AVA All the rage in river sports! Try the newest, most fun activity on the river - Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP)! A low-impact activity that's easy for never-evers to learn, you'll stand up or kneel on a large, surfboard-shaped board and steer with a long paddle as you navigate down the river. This section of the Upper Colorado River - through Little Gore Canyon - is the perfect spot to try this adventure.
The gentle Class II riffles and flat water create a good learning environment with the option for additional challenges if you're up for it! There are a couple more adventurous Class II-III sections as well so it's a great way to up the excitement a bit on our Upper Colorado Scenic Float. Life jacket and helmet provided.
AVA SUP tours and rentals are available from May 18 - September 30, 2018.
Driving Directions Approximately 1 hour 15 minute drive from Steamboat. Follow US 40 East into Kremmling, Turn right onto 14th Street, Turn left onto Eagle Ave, AVA Outpost is on the left.
