Eligibility for the Cowboy Downhill
• Any PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) or PBR (Professional Bull Riders) members entered at the 2018 Denver Stock Show Rodeo
• Current top 40 PBR members and current PRCA World Champions are eligible to register for the event
• State Rodeo queens appearing at the Denver Stock Show are also eligible to compete.

Date/Location:
Monday, January 15, 2018, 1:00pm on Stampede Trail at the base of the Steamboat Ski Resort.
Entry Cost: $125 - Entry includes two nights lodging at The Lodge at Steamboat(Sunday, January 14 and Monday, January 15, 2018 only), a two-day adult lift ticket, a two-day ski or snowboard rental package, entry into the Cowboy Downhill race, a special edition Cowboy Downhill jacket and one VIP Pass for all events.
Registration: Sunday, January 14, 2018, from 9am - 6pm at the Clubhouse at Lodge at Steamboat 2700 Village Drive, and Monday, January 15, 2018, the day of the race, at The Competition Services Office, Ski Area Base - Gondola Square, from 8:30am - 10:30am.
Lift Tickets: Every cowboy entering the event will receive two days of skiing valid January 14, 2018 - January 16, 2018 at registration.
Ski Rentals:
Cowboys will receive a ski or snowboard rental voucher at registration, which can then be presented at the Steamboat Ski & Sport - Gondola Square to obtain rental equipment.
Lodging: Lodging is available for Cowboy Downhill participants through Steamboat Resorts for the nights of Sunday, January 14 and Monday, January 15, 2018 ONLY. All lodging check-in is at The Lodge. Participants must identify themselves at the time of check-in as being with the Cowboy Downhill event. A credit card imprint for incidentals is required upon check-in.

Cowboy Guests
Special rates are available for cowboy's guests at registration who would like to purchase additional lift tickets, rentals and lodging.
  • Lodging: $40 per guest per night
  • Rentals: $15 per day
  • Lift Tickets: Adults $54 per day, children (2-6) $41 per day
  • VIP Pass: $30 includes lunch, dinner and free Bud Light

Pre-Race Cowboy Lunch
On Monday, January 15, starting at 1pm, lunch will be provided for all cowboys and VIP pass holders from 11:00am-12:45pm at the Bear River Bar & Grill Terrace.

Race Format
Cowboys will ski down a dual slalom course, go over a jump, lasso a lady, saddle a horse, and cross the finish line. This is the Timed Event. Followed by the Stampede Event, which is a mass start; first cowboy to the bottom wins. All participants must wear chaps and cowboy hats.

Awards and Concerts
The free Bud Light Cowboy Downhill concert featuring Waterloo Revival will begin immediately following the race in Gondola Square. Complimentary Bud and Bud Light and a cash bar will be available in the Cowboy VIP section. The Cowboy VIP section is not open to the general public. The Awards Ceremony will be held on Monday, January 15 at the awards banquet at the top of the gondola.

7:00pm Awards and banquet at the top of the gondola
