Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports – STARS is an exclusive partner with the Steamboat Ski Area and is a 501( c ) 3 whose mission is to empower and enrich lives through adaptive recreational activities. STARS provides adaptive ski and snowboard lessons for clients with disabilities on the mountain for youth and adults with autism, cognitive and physical disabilities and injured Veterans. Trained staff and volunteers provide personalized instruction to help each individual reach their highest potential. STARS uses adaptive techniques and specialized equipment to help ensure that everyone has the opportunity to participate.

Daily Lessons for age 5 & up
STARS offers private ski and snowboard lessons daily from November 23rd through April 12th for clients with a disability. STARS uses adapted techniques and specialized equipment to help each client achieve their goals. Lessons reservations can be made online at and advanced reservations are advised to ensure availability. Equipment and lift tickets are included in each lesson with STARS. For skiers with a disability
Lift tickets for Adaptive Skiers are available as well as Companion tickets if an adaptive assistant is necessary. For those who ski/ride frequently, Steamboat offers an Adaptive Adult Season Pass. Passes and individual tickets for adaptive skiers can be purchased at the Ski Area Ticket Office or at STARS at Basecamp located on the lower level of the Gondola Building.
