daily lessons for age 5 and up

STARS serves youth and adults with autism, cognitive and physical disabilities, Wounded Warriors and their families. Staff and volunteers provide instruction to help each individual reach their highest potential. We also offer programs that are inclusive to encourage family and friends to recreate together. Our group programs and camps help to increase opportunities for social interaction with other guests that face similar challenges in life. These camps and programs help to heal not only the guest but families as well, as they find activities where they can participate as a family.

STARS serves private clients as well as school groups, and specific groups/associations that serve people with disabilities such as Horizons Specialized Services, regional VA hospitals, and Sunshine Kids. We serve clients from all over the United States and from other countries who want to come to Steamboat Springs, Colorado.

Additional Lesson Policies

For Special Needs Skiers/Riders - All Levels

Qualified professionals are available to teach adaptive guests. Lessons are available by reservation only and advanced booking is required. Equipment and special lift ticket available during lesson only. Reservations required.

For Special Needs Skiers Level 4 and above - 1st Grade to 15 Years

Steamboat's Inclusion Program allows special needs children, ages first grade to age 15, to join regular group lessons with a specially trained instructor. We then work with the child's parent or guardian to determine whether the child is ready to participate in a group lesson format, or needs to remain with our private program as described above. Must call for reservations in a private lesson first.

For Special Needs Skiers

Lift tickets for Adaptive Skiers are available as well as Companion tickets if adaptive assistant is necessary. For those who ski/ride frequently, Steamboat offers an Adaptive Adult Season Pass.
