On-Mountain Operations Impacts: October 1-4, 2026
Please note that Steamboat's summer season ends October 4. Beginning October 5, all mountain operations, including the Steamboat Gondola, Steamboat Bike Park, base area activities, and all on-mountain and base area dining and retail locations will be closed for the season. Hiking and biking trails will remain accessible until winter snowmaking/grooming operations begin.
Summer projects are underway and crews are working in several areas of the mountain. Here’s what to know for this week:
Wet Trails: Please help protect Steamboat's trails by staying off them when wet — riding on saturated bike trails causes ruts and erosion.
Water Ramp Build: A new water ramp and trampoline training facility is being built to provide a safe environment for athletes to develop aerial skills. The facility will be located at the bottom of the Park Smalley Freestyle Complex.Huckleberry Trail will be closed for the season; Gunsmoke will be closed Mon-Fri and open Sat/Sun.
Stockman Construction Impacts: Construction work on The Stockman will cause trail impacts throughout the summer.
- Right-O-Way is closed for the summer.
- Lower Zig Zag has been rerouted onto the lower section of Lasso and changed to an uphill and downhill trail to accommodate Right-O-Way traffic. Upper Lasso remains closed.
- Dirt Haul to Bashor Half Pipe: The dirt from the excavation for The Stockman foundation is being repurposed to expand the foundation of the Maverick’s Half Pipe in Bashor Bowl creating the following impacts:
- Bike Park Trails:
- Flaggers on Fridays on Rustler’s, Mutton Buster/Buckin' Bronc, & EZ Rider (no impacts on Sat/Sun)
-Cowpoke, Lasso, & Look See will be closed Mon-Fri and open Sat/Sun.
- Lickety Split (closed for season)

Please follow all signage, closures, and crew direction at all times. Your awareness helps keep both teams and guests safe while this work is completed.
