In January 2026, The MusicFest at Steamboat will celebrate an incredible milestone—40 years of music, mountains, and memories. What began as a humble gathering of friends and musicians in 1986 has grown into one of the most iconic and beloved music festivals in the country and the largest group ski trip in the USA. Fans and artists prepare to return once again to the snow-covered peaks of Steamboat Springs, Colorado.
The MusicFest at Steamboat is marking an extraordinary milestone this January—40 years of music, mountains, and unforgettable memories. What began in 1986 as a small gathering of friends and musicians has grown into one of the most iconic and beloved music festivals in the country, deeply rooted in Steamboat’s ski-town spirit.
As part of the celebration, enjoy four FREE outdoor concerts on the Steamboat Square stage, taking place January 6–9. Each afternoon features incredible live music set against a classic mountain backdrop. The celebration wraps up with a glowing Torchlight Parade and fireworks show.
