Though he seems like a natural when performing, Casey Donahew actually fell into music gradually. He grew up on a farm and his grandfather, who loved to play and sing, gave Donahew his first guitar. It wasn’t until college that he first taught himself to play and began writing songs. Soon after, Donahew began playing a regular acoustic gig at the Thirsty Armadillo, a Fort Worth bar. Since those early days, this Burleson native has painstakingly carved out an impressive niche for himself on the country music scene, attracting a solid base of loyal fans that flock to his legendary live shows. Building his career from the ground up, he’s managed to perform on countless stages in front of thousands, topped the Texas music charts several times, released multiple albums independently to critical acclaim, and forged a path all his own without the aid or muscle of a major record label.
The fans have always been foremost on Casey’s mind as he built his career, and he makes his music with them in mind. For Casey, it’s simply about the music and his fans. Casey fuses genuine, honest lyrics with a contagious energy onstage; performing a stable, wild show at the MusicFest Dance Hall (Big Tent). With the release of his latest studio album, All Night Party, Casey is busy playing to packed houses throughout Texas and the Midwest. He’s come a long, long way since those early days on that Armadillo stage, and he still loves to thrill crowds both big and small. Catch Casey on the Outdoor Stage during MusicFest!
Concerts begin at 1:00pm on the Steamboat Stage in Gondola Square.
