Mike and the Moonpies has solidified themselves as Austin’s premier honky-tonk band. Maintaining weekly residencies at iconic venues like Broken Spoke, White Horse and Hole in the Wall, all while touring across the state every weekend, has made the band tighter than they’ve ever been. The growing regional popularity of their 2012 release The Hard Way, plus the band’s nonstop touring schedule, has allowed them to take the Texas music scene by storm. The Moonpies have delivered some of their most memorable performances in venues like Gruene Hall, Luckenbach, and Billy Bob’s Texas.
They have gained a cult-like following in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee and throughout the Midwest. While steeped in tradition, the Moonpies rejuvenate honky-tonk and traditional country music, appealing to a wildly eclectic audience. They are equally at home in dance halls and theaters, and can share a bill with an indie rock band or a country legend. Currently touring the U.S. and promoting their third studio album, Mockingbird, the Moonpies are set to become a household name in honkytonk and outlaw music.
Concerts begin at 1:00pm on the Steamboat Stage in Gondola Square.
