Each fall, the Steamboat Art Museum’s Plein Air event brings the Yampa Valley to life through the eyes of artists from across the country. Now in its 16th year, this weeklong celebration of landscape painting features more than 50 artists, both professionals and open-category participants capture the vibrant beauty of the Yampa Valley. From sweeping alpine vistas and ranches to the Yampa River and Steamboat Resort, the event transforms iconic local scenes into timeless works of art. It’s a unique opportunity for both artists and spectators to connect, create, and celebrate the rich colors of fall in Northwest Colorado.
