We’ll even deliver it to your lodging property (restrictions apply). Our Steamboat Sports rental shops are here to make your life easier. Reserve your rental equipment online through your provided booking link at least 7 days in advance and get deep discounts on both ski and snowboard equipment. No matter if you are looking to rent just the basics or if you want to try out this season’s fresh new lineup of demo gear, we have the perfect package to suit your style.
The following rental packages are available to group guests: Sport ski or snowboard package, All-Mountain ski or snowboard package, Demo ski or snowboard package, Demo skis & poles only, Demo snowboard only, adult helmets.

1. Sheraton – lower level in the Sheraton, across from the Christie chairlift. Open daily 7:30am-8:00pm (9:00pm when night skiing is offered)
2. Gondola Square – in the heart of Gondola Square, behind the Welcome Center. Open daily 8:00am – 6:00pm
3. Transit Center – second level of Gondola Square, near the Gondola Transit Center. Open daily 8:00am – 6:00pm
4. Steamboat Grand – inside the Steamboat Grand Hotel. Open daily 7:30am – 11:30am and 2:30pm – 7:00pm
5. Ski Time Square – northeast side of Ski Time Square. Open daily 8:00am – 5:00pm
Adult Group Lessons: Ages 18+, All Levels
Adult group lessons are designed with you in mind! Our world-class instructors emphasize personal attention to each skier or rider in their group, and work hard to ensure you have a fun and exciting mountain experience while learning the necessary skills to ski and ride Steamboat with confidence. Private Lessons & Guides: All Ages, All Levels
Enjoy any of our private lessons or guides with your four closest friends! Private lessons are available for individuals, friends, and families up to five participants of the same ability level. Ski With an Olympian
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to have an Olympic medal placed around your neck, while thousands of fans cheer with excitement and the national anthem plays in the background? Wonder no more – Ski with an Olympian offers you the unique opportunity to share the slopes with one of Steamboat’s Olympians as they regale you with tales and memories from their experience on the world stage. Bashor Lower Start
Our most popular race option, the Bashor lower start accommodates all skill levels and abilities from first time racers to Olympic level athletes. The dual race format provides a friendly and fun way to add a little competitive spirit to your group outing – or perhaps decide who will buy the first round of drinks at happy hour.
Pricing: $17 per person, with a $500 minimum for each hour. Includes unlimited runs for the duration of the race and option of dual or single course.
Available Start Times: 9:00am, 9:30am, 12:30pm, 1:00pm, 1:30pm, 2:00pm
Bashor Upper Start
For competitors who are looking to take their race skills to the next level, the Bashor upper start is ideal for racers with some experience who want to try a longer course running 30-45 seconds. Racers should be comfortable exiting from a steep start gate.
Pricing: $23 per person, with an $800 minimum for each hour. Includes unlimited runs for the duration of the race and option of dual or single course.
Available Start Times: 9:00am, 9:30am, 12:30pm, 1:00pm, 1:30pm, 2:00pm
All private group races include the following:
• All participants are scored using NASTAR and will have access to online results, rankings and handicaps
• Race times posted to Live Timing during the race, available from any personal cell phone
• NASTAR medals or racer pins awarded to each participant
• NASTAR bibs provided for each participant
• Copies of the start list available for athletes
• Live announcing during the race
• Scoreboard posted at the bottom of the race venue
• Course setting by professionally trained and experienced course setters
• Course maintenance during the race
• Private race venue with no public customers permitted during your race time
• A full results packet, customized to your specific needs, delivered to you after the race

Our free mountain tours are a fun, stress free way to familiarize yourself with the terrain while learning about Steamboat’s history. Take advantage of our free on mountain clinic with Olympic Silver Medalist and World Champion Billy Kidd for some pointers and a run down Heavenly Daze, or learn to ski the moguls with Olympic Medalist and World Champion Nelson Carmichael. If someone in your group doesn’t ski or ride or you have a day off, join our Ambassador staff for a guided snowshoe tour at the top of the gondola.
Please notify your group coordinator at least one week in advance if large numbers of guests will be attending these free events, so we can staff accordingly.
Ambassador Mountain Tour
The Ambassador staff offers a free mountain ski tour every day at 10:30am, December 10, 2018 through March 31, 2019. For intermediate and above skiers and riders. Ski With Billy Kidd
Join Steamboat’s Director of Skiing, Olympic medalist and World Champion Billy Kidd for free pointers and a run down Heavenly Daze. Check the sign at the top of the gondola to see if Billy is skiing today. Join him in front of the Billy Kidd sign at the top of the Why Not trail at 1pm. Nelson on Nelson's
Nelson Carmichael, Olympic Bronze Medalist and World Cup Mogul Champion, hosts a free mogul clinic on Nelson’s Run on select Sundays. Check the grooming report to see if Nelson is skiing and meet at the Nelson’s sign outside the Four Points Lodge.View Tour Info
For skiers 50+ who enjoy cruising the mountain together on blue and black trails. This free tour is led by local guides and departs daily from the top of the gondola at 9am. Reservation required.View Tour Info
Steamboat Ambassadors provide guided snowshoe tours from the top of the gondola. Tours depart daily from Steamboat Sports at Gondola Square at 1pm, December 10, 2018 through March 31, 2019. Snowshoe rentals are available.View Tour Info
