Where to sip, warm up, and toast the day — from first chair to last call
There’s a moment on every mountain day when the skis come off, the gloves loosen, and the storytelling begins. Maybe it’s a sunny après on a deck, a mid-day warm-up inside a lodge, or a fireside dinner after the lifts stop spinning. However you do it, drinks are part of the ritual.

Across the mountain and in Steamboat Square, bartenders are mixing cocktails that feel as rooted in Ski Town, U.S.A.® as the snow itself — smoky, warming, playful, and a little unexpected.

Here’s where to go, and exactly what to order.

Hazie’s

Order: Smokey San Juan Margarita
A dinner favorite that quickly became an all-day request. This cocktail blends Casamigos Mezcal with house-made pine simple syrup for a distinctly alpine flavor. It arrives with a dried lime and a small pine branch that’s lightly torched to release a campfire-like aroma.

It’s less margarita, more mountain campfire — the kind of drink you linger over while watching the alpenglow.

Also Try: Perfect Gin & Tonic
Made with local Mythology Gin and house-made tonic water, this is a clean, elevated take on a classic. Crisp, herbal, and refreshing after a day on snow — and arguably the best gin & tonic in town.

Crooked Antler
Order: New York Sour
A timeless cocktail dating back to the late 1800s, done right. American whiskey, fresh lemon, and simple syrup are finished with a float of red wine and foamy egg whites for a balanced sweet-tart finish.

Also Try: Lavender 75
Empress Indigo gin, house-made lavender syrup, lemon, pea flower, and La Marca prosecco create a bright floral sparkler — equally fitting for starting the day late or ending it slow.

Ragnar’s
Order: Ragnar’s Award-Winning Bloody
A Steamboat institution. The house secret-recipe Bloody mix is paired with hot-pepper-infused Mythology Vodka and topped with pickled peppers, meats, and cheese.Add the World Famous Ragnar’s Chef Skewer — soft pretzels, pickle, mini Reuben, and mini BLT — and it becomes less of a drink and more of a mid-mountain meal.

Stoker Bar & Restaurant (Thunderhead Lodge)

Order: Chai White Russian
A longtime guest favorite for a reason. Chai-tea-infused Mythology Vodka meets coffee liqueur, cream, and cinnamon for a warm, spiced twist on the classic.

And if you’re trying to maximize ski time, Stoker is known for some of the fastest service on the mountain — perfect for a quick sandwich and drink before heading right back to the lifts.

Rendezvous Lodge

Outpost Window — Order: High Noon
Whipped cream vodka and butterscotch schnapps stirred into hot cocoa and topped with whipped cream. Comfort in a cup for cold days.

Umbrella Bar — Order: Wild West Bloody
Jalapeño and Peppadew pepper infused vodka meets house Bloody mix and a signature garnish. Spicy, bold, and built for a powder morning recovery.

Taco Beast

Order: Jalapeño Pineapple Margarita
Cimarron tequila infused with fresh pineapple and jalapeño, plus lime, lemon, and agave. Sweet heat and sunshine — even mid-winter.

Four Points Lodge

Order: A Local Storm Peak Brew
At nearly 10,000 feet, sometimes the right choice is simple: a cold Colorado craft beer with a big view. Pair it with a warming lunch and soak in one of the best vantage points on the mountain.

The Ritual Matters

Some drinks warm you up. Some cool you down. Some turn into stories you’ll tell on the lift the next morning.

At Steamboat, they all share one thing — they’re best enjoyed unhurried, boots still on, surrounded by friends, family, and a view worth toasting.

Pull up a chair. You’ve earned it.
